Progressive Party, Center for American Progress

Client

Center for American Progress

Date

2010

I hesitated a bit to include this piece, but good and clever design is timeless. Either that or I'm just biased because it's a reference to Stephen King's The Shining. I fondly remember the excitement as a young designer when I was told that Center for American Progress' founder, John Podesta, was sold on this unconventional concept for a party invitation that referenced the 1980's horror film. I designed this piece in 2010 and worked with a union printer to hammer out all the details of how the reply device would double as a piece of paper coming through a typewriter via a custom die cut in the invitation.
